Dry molasses is an excellent carbon source that stimulates beneficial soil organisms. Molasses contains crude protein, minerals, trace elements and vitamins of B complex. Dry molasses is actually liquid molasses sprayed onto a grain meal residue that acts as a carrier for the molasses. This carrier offers a carbon source for beneficial microorganisms. When applied as a soil amendment Dry Molasses serves as a microbial food source helping to stimulate beneficial bacteria within soil.
Dry Molasses is often used as a feed supplement for livestock.
Dry Molasses is also known to repel fire ants.
Application Rates;
As a soil amendment apply:
- ½ lb - 2 lbs. per 100 sq. ft.
- up to 20 lbs. per 1000 sqft.
