Product Overview
Zinc (ZN) is an essential mineral for human, animal, and plant nutrition and a key component of many proteins and enzymes. Zinc also contributes to a number of important plant functions, such as growth hormone production and inter node elongation. Zinc binds to proteins and organic acids in soil making it available to plants and other organisms in soil. The availability of Zinc depends upon soil pH. This product is a Zinc Sulfate and contains a combination of sulfur and zinc.
Zinc is one of eight micronutrients plants depend upon for proper health. This micronutrient is essential for plant growth and development.
Water plants thoroughly before applying a zinc sulfate solution. Zinc Sulfate should always be applied after thoroughly watering the soil, this will help to avoid burning the plants' roots and help make pathways for absorption of the nutrients.
In field production, zinc sulfate is applied at a rate of 1 pound for every five acres.
- Zinc sulfate is easy to use for it's soluble uptake and low cost
- Applying a zinc sulfate treatment with your regular fertilizing routine
- Zinc can also be applied as a foliar spray to help the leaves "green up" and respond quickly
- Low pH and compacted soil may also reduce the availability of zinc
